Whilst the recent COVID-19 pandemic was a stressful time for the vast majority of us, it has also taught us some valuable lessons, not the least of which was how important keeping active is for both our physical and mental health. With that in mind, we wanted to show you how easy it can be to incorporate quick, simple fitness regimes in your new home so you can stay on track with your health goals, and stay dry and warm inside while doing it!
We know it can be hard to stay motivated when the weather turns cloudy and cold like it is right now, which is all the more reason for us to provide some ways you can create space for a quick work out and effectively get your heart rate up in the comfort of your own (Ross North or otherwise) home.
Our top 3 are:
The Living Room Lunge:
In an open plan living/dining room as spacious as the one we created in the Stella, you can lunge from one end of the space to the other with ease and get your blood pumping quickly! Finish it off with a 1 minute wall squat and you will be burning calories for hours after you complete the work out.
The Theatre Room Circuit:
All you need is a theatre room as large as the one we designed for the Casina, and you have a potential circuit that will leave you feeling toned and terrific in no time. Use the couch to do tricep dips, the coffee table to secure your feet for perfect sit ups, and finish with a 1 min plank to make sure your core gets a workout, too!
The Kitchen Push Up:
Great kitchens start with a great kitchen bench, and so does an easy push up work out!
In the kitchen below from The Fusion, you would face the countertop looking into the kitchen space and place your hands on the edge, roughly shoulder-width apart. Step your feet backward and lift your heels up so that your body forms a plank. From here, lower your chest toward the bench while keeping your elbows in, and then slowly press your body back to starting position. Get a mini work out in whilst you admire your beautiful Ross North kitchen – a perfect way to start or finish your day!
