Living Room Trends for 2022

Rattan, bold artwork, and no such thing as too many indoor plants!

The past couple of years has seen us all spending extended periods indoors, so it’s no surprise this is reflected in the below three trends we are loving right now. We ask a lot of our homes these days, and more of us working from home than ever before, we are designing our homes to be more interesting, more colourful, and certainly more comfortable to be in as we’re all adjusting to the new normal.

1. Abstract/interesting artwork

We’re no longer relying solely on family pictures to illuminate the walls in our home, but inviting in a new, more abstract style of single line images, big splashes of colour or even better – a combination of both to breathe life and interest into our living areas.

2. Indoor Plants (and loads of them)

We’ve all been introducing a bit of green into our homes and understand the health benefits as much as the aesthetic benefits of doing so – but 2022 is most certainly the year of plants in every room of the house in abundance! If you’re not a green thumb there are many great artificial plant retailers around, but for those of us who enjoy caring for a variety of indoor plants? You no longer need to worry about which plant and which room – there is no such thing as too many and you can get as creative as you like about how you display them!

3. Rattan

This trend has been building steadily since 2020 and shows no sign of slowing down! A real 70’s style vibe with plenty of pastel tones is beautifully complemented by the great texture rattan furniture and décor bring. Whether it is a small touch with a rattan light fitting or something bolder with dining tables or sofas, you can incorporate into your home however you wish in order to give your living spaces an on-trend feel instantly.
